MISSION STATEMENT
“Tortuga Norte was created in 2008 as a result of the profound influence that Parismina, Costa Rica, and its endeavor to save the leatherback turtles that land on its beaches, had on my wife and myself. We could not help but be swept up by their mission to ensure the safe arrival and departure of female sea turtles depositing future generations of offspring on the beaches of Parismina.”
“As a result of our experience with the turtles of Parismina we felt compelled to assist in any way we could. Tortuga Norte is a non-profit organization that seeks to ensure that turtles continue to settle on the beaches along the Caribbean coast of this community so all of our children, and their children, can always have the opportunity to witness these magnificent, gentle, creatures in their surroundings, not ours.”
